Scarlett Johansson Speaks Of Ambition

Somewhere, interviews with Scarlett Johansson always seem to curl back into this discipline, and even at 18, when she was first in the field of tables full of journalists when travelling, it was amazingly sure of herself and her place in the world, completely free of the fragility of nerve expected Émergent starlets. She is now 23. "I feel like a strong woman," Scarlett Johansson said, musingly. "For sure. It is a powerful modern woman."

We are here today to discuss ostensibly The Other Boleyn Girl, a costume drama adapted for the screen by Peter Morgan, who also wrote The Queen. Scarlett Johansson plays Mary, the sweetness and younger sister of the mother of conniving doomed Anne Boleyn (Natalie Portman), the second wife of Henry VIII.

It is 450 years since the head of Anne Boleyn fell from the chopping block ambitious but women are still regarded with suspicion by Hollywood's columnists, the popular press. Scarlett Johansson is not the kind of person to comply with these expectations. "The goal is healthy," she says firmly. "All successful people are ambitious. And we need to be ambitious to succeed. You have to have hope, have the opportunity to see. And you have to set goals for yourself. I think that is important. "

And it seems to work: we saw a large part of the famous pout Johansson in recent years. She has served since his childhood, the press notes for The Other Boleyn Girl tell us she made her debut at the age of eight in a play with Ethan Hawke. Even before that, she was registered with the agency responsible for making advertisements, it has always been, she said in previous interviews, eager to accomplish.

Scarlett Johansson has already won a very respectable list of work before Sofia Coppola Lost in Translation (2003) has made known his name. One of his first film roles was as Grace in The Horse Whisperer - coincidentally, a role Portman rejected. She was also Thora Birch suburban airhead friend who is excited by a high-ironing board in Terry Zwigoff's Ghost World, a performance that earned her best actress in support of the film festival in Toronto. She also appeared in the Coen Brothers' film noir The Man Who Was not There.

Recently, however, it was difficult to make sense of the choices Scarlett Johansson
has made. Maybe it's just that there have been so many. Girl With a Pearl Earring, visually splendid costume drama based on a best seller, probably offered a strategic move into the World brocade British period film. But there is no explaining his choice to play the daughter of the boss of stagnation rom-com in good company, or regulation blonde Michael Bay, The Island.

The "Yes We Can" Video

Quite a lot of people mailed me yesterday morning to tell me about a new video developed by folk artists in the name of Barack Obama. At first, I just shrugged my shoulders. I am not particularly interested in celebrity culture, and there have been a little too video viral campaign - "Obama girl" comes to mind - who did not amount to much.

But then, after some cajoling, I took a glance. And I must say, it is quite good.

It was originally posted here, and this version looks and sounds a little better.

Mark Kleiman, a supporter Obama, called the video "pretty damned overwhelming", and compared it to "Lillibullero." Ezra Klein, who is not a partisan Obama said: "Without asking not affect election or too closely analyzing its policy, This music, video, Obama already turning into reality speeches lyrical music, and sung played by real musicians, it's beautiful and touching. "

Agreed. Obama better interventions were compared to poetry, but he never came to me, they could be seen literally lyrical.

CNN had a question about the song.

With just a few days to go before the critical Super Tuesday primary, the Black Eyed Peas, "will.i.am and director Jesse Dylan, son of the legendary musician Bob Dylan, have released a new song featured a host of celebrities and" Video Clip a very unlikely star: presidential candidate Democrat Barack Obama.

"Yes We Can", published Friday, is centered around footage of the speech, the senator gave Illinois after the New Hampshire primary last month.

The clip includes excerpts of the speech Obama and celebrity appearances including jazz artist Herbie Hancock, former captain LA Lakers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the singer John Legend, the model Amber Valletta, Kate Walsh and actresses Scarlett Johansson, and " others.

(In an interview with the Associated Press last month, Johansson had joked that she was engaged to White House hopeful, telling a reporter: "My heart belongs to Barack.")

Dylan and will.i.am told ABC News, they did not coordinate the development or release of the video with the Obama campaign, and are unsure knows Obama on production.

Not to be left out, of course, the Clinton campaign of his own show.

Hillary Clinton has campaigned Hollywood. The candidate has appeared at several events in California flanked by a host of celebrities his closest friends.

On Friday, Mrs. Clinton spoke at a fundraiser held at the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco, along with the actor Ted Danson and his wife and longtime friend, actress Mary Steenburgen. Today, Mrs. Clinton spoke at a rally at California State University in Los Angeles with "Gidget" star Sally Field and basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson.

And even more in the entertainment/news policy, the Grateful Dead is a show about Obama meeting on his behalf.

The battle to capture California gray-haired ponytail vote can be more: The Grateful Dead - Jerry, RIP - endorses Barack Obama.

Not only that, boys are reuniting for a show out Monday to Warfield Theatre in San Francisco for a rally… GOTV. And the fallout of this policy, and not the Obama campaign has thought of this moment, is that the Uniter Obama is the only candidate who can bring together the members of the Dead for their first performance together since 2004. Yes, it's a sprain, but it was three days before Super Tuesday and long term, everyone benefits decent material.

The tickets were sold instantly, of course.

The "Lost in Translation" beauty claims that it is not naturally sexy and relies heavily on makeup to improve its appearance.
